Why Should I Donate?

The Darien High School Fuel Cell Car Team is a student-run operation working out of the workshop of a public high school. As we are not allowed to accept sponsorships, there is no constant stream of funding for this project. Instead of having our team working on the vehicle, we have to spend the first half of the year fundraising on a week to week basis, with no guarantee that we will receive any capital to continue perfecting our vehicle. The team received $1500 total from the Darien Board of Education; however, this is not enough to buy the necessary mechanical parts (i.e. brakes, bolts, and nuts), in order for the car to operate. This is where we call on the local and STEM communities to support our cause. We cannot race in the Shell Eco-Marathon and grow in education, experience, and fun without your support. With financial or consulting support, donators can help create future engineers in the field of alternative energy. We accept all donations and support of any kind or amount, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event.
